NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A southeastern Pennsylvania man who pleaded guilty to driving drunk at the time he barreled into a home and killed a sleeping 86-year-old woman has been sentenced to four to eight years in prison.
Joseph Bezanis, who was sentenced last week in Norristown, pleaded guilty in September to homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence in the April 6 death of Marianne Lambert.
Police say the Telford residents was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana when he drove across several lawns and crashed into the Franconia home. Prosecutors say Lambert was crushed against an interior wall of her home. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bezanis apologized for his actions, saying the crash wasn't "intentional."
